These kind of travel days are just long!
I've been in LA for 3 hrs, and still have another 1-1/2 hrs to wait. And then, I have a 4-1/2 hr flight to Miami, then 3 to Antigua. So, why not have some drinks, right?
As is consistent for me, I found the nearest bar stool and plopped myself down with the rest of the type A personalities who choose to sit at the bar versus a lonely table in the subculture if the restaurant. I quickly befriended an Italian gal from Miami and a Texan from the Midwest. They spoke of their business travels and then inquired as to my travels. I told them I was headed to Antigua, Guatemala for service work with babies and all of a sudden I had about 15 more friends sitting at the bar. We were talking loudly and laughing across the bar like long lost friends who'd come together for a reunion. By the time I got up to leave, people were hugging me and shaking my hand with support and best wishes for my service work at Casa Jackson. They all consistently were saying that they'd love to do what I'm doing if they had the time.
I say, make the time.
Where's my daily up date?!?
